„This will never end“ aims to recontextualise a well known digital icon – the Apple system unresponsive symbol, also known as „spinning pinwheel“. By taking this symbol of waiting and frustration into the analog world, the work explores the impact of digital conditioning in our every day life.
The small installation is placed in locations of „eternal waiting“, in order to question the viewers’ relationship with technology. It only takes simple triggers, such as a phone ring to provoke an automated response in people – and often these associations can be sparked even if there is no digital device around.
