Daniel Dalfovo — Talking Trash
Exhibition in the Cloud — Summer 2012
"Talking Trash" works similar to a peer 2 peer service apart from the fact that the trading object is trash. A sensor attached to a bin next to your desk detects whenever you throw something into it. This information is sent to the other person, wherever in the world, and she sends back a random virtual file out of her trash, the desktop trash. You get virtual trash when throwing real trash!!!
BRIDGE was ment to create a connection between New York Parsons and UdK Berlin. It was fascinating to see how much you can get a sense for a person by getting her or his trash!
"Talking Trash" is a bridge between New York and Berlin, a bridge between analog and digital and a bridge between destruction and reconstruction.
