Clemens Fischer — Chainsaw Camera

Die Zeit für Nettigkeiten ist vorbei — Summer 2024

The chainsaw camera is a chainsaw driven camera that is shooting on 35mm film material at 6 to 10 frames per second triggered by a pneumatic shutter. Cast iron pulleys transmit the saw's torque via several belts to two mounted axles.
A cam on the axis activates a mechanical compressed air valve, which controls the pneumatic cylinders on the camera shutter and film magazine. The speed of the chainsaw determines the image frequency and quality.
