What is money?
Is it simply a representation of value, time or power? Can it be used as a medium? This project tries to find answers to these questions.
By printing QR codes on banknotes, I’m hijacking the traditional medium and make use of it’s travelling qualities.
Through scanning the code, participants on the one side provide information about the current physical location of the banknote and on the other side join an unique channel that’s not accessible in any other way. The channel is investigating the participants interactions with money through several short unconventional concepts. By doing so, the project is challenging people’s understanding of the medium.
