Hye Joo Jun
Hye Joo Jun — Binocular
Free Project — Summer 2013
We have two eyes so we can see not only height and width, but also depth. This light installation includes two lights which represent human eyes and they are used to project two different views of the one substance onto the screen through the lights. On the other side of the screen we, as the audience, are looking at the projection on the screen and we can see the three dimensional image with the help of eye glasses with color filters. Two different images that make contact with our retinas together produce the illusion of depth. In the end, we see a vivid scene made using light and technology which is deluding our eyes and deceiving our brain, but which creates a vital and vivid picture in three dimensions.
