The work consists of an audio part in the form of a poem that could be heard in the middle of the small fabric room that is slowly spinning. The video part of the installation is projected on the fabric and is also synchronised with a headlamp, which goes on at specific times in the video. The viewers are invited to put on the headlamp, get in the room, watch, and listen.
This work is inspired by bell hooks’ book “All About Love.” The audio is partially composed of my reflections on the text. The work aims to visualise the search for love in a loveless room or tries to give a face to love. A face that one could recognise or a face that one could have in order to practice love. It’s a discussion about the different aspects of love—a search that takes place on several surfaces. The love within influences the love outside oneself. The love within is the love out of oneself. The love in oneself is the love in the world. Or maybe the missing one. The world urgently needs more love.
