Genius Loci — Winter 2022
Water before the human influence can be seen as a very primal element, naturally often in a very uncontrollable state. The public pool acts as a space catered to control this element in almost every aspect, and is in every way designed to create what is called modern water.
The sculpture cuts out a cross section of this temple of cultivated waters, containing elements of the public pool recipe. The urine bag acts as the inciting incident of the work, creating tension against the examined cleanliness of the public pool, hazardous to the system and absurd in the constellation.
