„blood sweat and tears“ is a concrete sculpture with a screen embedded into it. I wanted to create an object that is a manifestation of the saying „Blood, sweat and tears flooded into it“. Therefore I collected just these and cast them into a concrete sculpture with it‘s shape reminding of the design language of commonly known monuments, often symbols of achievement, power or hard work. A video compilation of myself collecting the liquids from my body, pouring them into the concrete mixture and molding the sculpture is running on the screen. Executing this collection process inside an ironic enclosed frame defined only by the urge to produce the liquids itself and not have them appear as a by product of hard work like normally formulates my intention to detach from the original meaning of this popular work ethic.
