Dirk Erdmann — hanging by the thread
Unstable Objects (Short-term Project) — Summer 2020
"hanging by the thread" is an installation revealing a familiar sight with an unusual twist: the wire delivering power to the lit lightbulb it showing open copper innards. Not only that, but the wire underwent destruction and is keeping the lightbulb from falling by a single strand of copper wire. The line is visibly connected to an outlet inviting a disaster. Or is it? By being displayed in an open space neither the venue nor the creator would allow something reckless like this to be open to the touch, do they?
